At Haileybury Almaty we deliver a demanding and varied teaching programme with the aim that every pupil shall develop academically and achieve their first-choice university.
We combine excellent scholarship with traditional rigour and forward-looking, contemporary teaching. This is supported by excellent facilities, extensive study resources and a robust enrichment programme for each course.
As an academic school, we understand that by integrating both curricular and co-curricular, pupils will develop self-esteem, self confidence and the attributes required for life-long learning.
Pupils in follow a broad curriculum to develop familiarity with a wide range of skills and subjects. Within the Haileybury curriculum, the following subjects are compulsory: Art & Design, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, English, Geography, History, Kazakh language, Mathematics, Modern Foreign Language, Music, Personal Development and Physical Education.
Middles (Year 10) and Fifths (Year 11) typically study 8 IGCSEs. These include a core of English Language, Mathematics, Combined Science and a Modern Foreign Language. Optional subjects, Art, Business Studies, Computer Science at this level supplement and broaden their curricular experience.
There is no single route to preparing for university or employment. We offer A Levels , which is a demanding and well-respected programme. British Education values lie at the centre of our approach. Our teaching precludes the promotion of partisan views in any subject and encourages a balanced presentation of opposing political views.
All pupils follow an active PHSE programme, delivered through a variety of means, and receive appropriate careers guidance.
