Reception Class (ages 4-5)

The Reception Class follows the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. The curriculum prioritises the development of the whole child through targeted teaching and areas of continuous provision. The key areas of development are: Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Physical Development and Communication and Language, Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World and Expressive Arts and Design.

At this age, pupils are provided with a range of fun learning experiences which are based on the child’s own interests and current levels of development. Our excellent staff to pupil ratio allows us to know the individual needs of each child and provide not only a caring and nurturing environment but also one in which they can develop their level of English and also develop a love of school.
