Speech Day and Prize Giving Ceremony 2018

Our academic year ended on Friday, June 15 with a celebration of the year and a valedictory Prize Giving Ceremony for our leavers.

This year, the guest of honour at the ceremony was Mr. Tsuneo Akaha, Professor of International Policy and Development at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies in Monterey. In his speech, Mr. Akaha spoke about the importance of being a "Citizen of the world  in a world without borders”, and the value of sharing common goals, aspirations, and experiences.

2015 leaver Ualikhan Abdraliev, a student at Durham University, a world leading institution, argued that intellectual skills are not enough in a modern, high-tech world, and shared the type of skills that young people will require for a successful career in the future.

Our amazing Heads of School, Vladimir and Dariya, recounted their first days at Haileybury, the challenges they encountered when starting their studies, and the importance of striving for success despite these obstacles and setbacks. The new Head Boy and Head Girl were also announced for the next academic year - we will reveal the details in one of our future posts.

This year, Kipling  was declared the overall winner of the House competition. We congratulate them and all of the houses on a very competitive annual competition.

Prizes were awarded to each pupil who achieved a 
100% attendance record. Academic prizes for excellence, and attitude to learning were also made. 🏅There were special awards to Mael and Nune Grol (Lower School) and Aishabibi Ashimbekova (Upper School). Yelaman Sain won the Alister Bartholomew "Service to the School Community”shield.

We wholeheartedly congratulate all of our pupils and staff at the end of another successful academic year.

We also thank our parents for their continued support of the school. 
We look forward to an even more successful 2018/19.
