About Us

Haileybury Almaty is a member of the Eco Schools, the largest global sustainable schools programme.  It is an action based learning programme that puts learning about sustainability at the heart of the student experience.

The programme is based on student leadership, and allows students to have a genuine influence over school policies, actions and curriculum. The aim is to "Engage the youth of today to protect the planet of tomorrow."

Through the formation of an eco committee, who then review the school in 10 different areas (environmental review) an action plan is created to make improvements in several identified areas. This year, we are working on:

  • Waste
  • Climate Change
  • Health and Wellbeing
  • Biodiversity

In this section, you can read the students' environmental reviews and action plans, and see our eco code, which was developed to summarise our actions this year.
