Green Bazaar:
The Green Bazaar is one of the oldest bazaars in Kazakhstan. In 1875, the "Gostiny Dvor" was built here, in which merchants from all over Central Asia traded. Trading was also conducted during Soviet times, but a covered building was built here only in the 1970s.
Hiking Kazakhstan: a day in Charyn Canyon National Park:
The corridors, crevices and towering columns of Kazakhstan's Charyn Canyon National Park are easily accessible to hikers now that the road here from Almaty has been upgraded and trail signage improved.
Big Almaty Lake
Big Almaty Lake is a stunning alpine reservoir located about 15 kilometers south of Almaty, Kazakhstan, at an altitude of 2,511 meters above sea level. Nestled within the Trans-Ili Alatau mountains, the lake is known for its striking turquoise waters, which change shades depending on the season.
