Sustainable Development Goals

How do we integrate SDG’s (Sustainable Development Goals) in our educational process?

This month’s SDG is No13: Climate Action. We visited several classes in the Junior School and were pleased to see the things they are doing on a daily basis. The youngest children in Reception are taught to reduce plastic, and reuse fabrics for the boards in their classrooms. It’s never too early to teach children good habits!

Visiting KS1, we were surprised to see pupils collecting yogurts and spoons after breakfast to reuse them later for the creation of plastic animals. In the other class, pupils showed us that they make sure to turn off the lights when they leave the classroom to reduce the use of electricity.

Integration of the Sustainable Development Goals in the educational process is not only about explaining to pupils what the SDGs are in theory, it is about real actions and developing good habits for both, teachers and pupils.
