Haileybury Almaty has joined the esteemed ranks of the TASS association - The Alliance for Sustainability Schools!
Together with our dedicated Eco committee, our Headmaster proudly signed the TASS charter, solidifying our unwavering commitment to sustainability. At Haileybury Almaty, we firmly believe in fostering a culture of environmental responsibility, not only within our campus but also in the broader community.
Understanding the vital role sustainable practices play in shaping a better future, we have undertaken numerous initiatives to reduce our environmental footprint and cultivate eco-consciousness among our pupils, staff, and stakeholders.
Environmental education and awareness are integral parts of our curriculum. Our pupils engage in sustainability-focused subjects, delving into ecological principles, climate change, and the crucial significance of preserving natural resources. Through immersive field trips, engaging workshops, and enlightening guest lectures, we expose our students to real-world environmental challenges, empowering them to develop innovative solutions.
We are proud to embrace energy conservation measures, implementing energy-efficient lighting systems and smart thermostats. Furthermore, we are actively exploring the use of renewable energy sources such as solar panels to reduce our reliance on non-renewable resources and minimize carbon emissions.
Waste management holds a high priority for us. We champion recycling and waste reduction practices throughout our facilities, ensuring responsible disposal of paper, plastic, and other recyclable materials. Our pupils actively participate in recycling programmes, gaining firsthand knowledge about waste segregation and its positive impact on the environment. Additionally, we strongly encourage the use of reusable materials and discourage single-use items to reduce overall waste generation.
We are incredibly proud to be a part of the TASS association and will continue to champion sustainability as a core value. Together, let's nurture a greener and more sustainable future for generations to come!
