In a heartening display of community spirit, the Haileybury community made a significant impact on the lives of the residents of Solnyshko House on Sunday, January 7th.
The Senior School members spearheaded an initiative to deliver a multitude of gifts generously donated by the community, creating an atmosphere of excitement and warmth at the care facility. The meticulous planning and dedication of the Senior School members were evident as they prepared and packed three vans brimming with gifts for the Solnyshko House residents. The thoughtful touch of individual cards, crafted by Junior School students, accompanied each gift. These cards, adorned with heartfelt messages of good wishes for the New Year, added a personal and meaningful connection between the donors and the recipients. The artistic prowess of Junior School students was on full display, thanks to the guidance of the Art department led by Mrs. Pullen.
The beautiful and heartfelt cards became a symbol of empathy and compassion, showcasing the depth of care within the Haileybury community. The success of the Solnyshko House Christmas Project was not only a result of the community's generosity but also the tireless efforts of Virginia and Gaukhar, who have been organizing this charity initiative annually for the last few years. Their commitment and dedication have played a pivotal role in making this initiative a recurring success, providing an opportunity for the Haileybury community to come together in the spirit of giving. The collaborative efforts that went into organizing the Winter
The Festival in December also contributed significantly to the donations. The Haileybury Parents Association played a pivotal role in coordinating the festival, complementing the Winter Festival contributions and bringing the grand total to an astonishing 1,180,000 tenge. The funds raised not only fulfilled the individual wishes of Solnyshko House residents but also allowed for the creation of 80 individual gift bags. These bags, containing a delightful assortment of chocolates, tea, honey, and fresh fruit, were distributed to each resident, spreading joy even further.
Additionally, boxes of chocolates were generously donated to the orphanage by the House charities, extending the reach of the community's goodwill. The results of the Solnyshko House Christmas Project are a testament to the impact a united community can have on the lives of others. The smiles and gratitude expressed by the recipients echoed the positive change that can be achieved when people come together with a shared goal of making a difference. As we embark on a new year, the Haileybury community's act of kindness serves as a shining example of compassion and unity. Special thanks and appreciation go to Virginia and Gaukhar for their tireless efforts in organizing this charity initiative annually, fostering a tradition of generosity and community spirit. Congratulations to everyone involved for creating a memorable and uplifting experience for the Solnyshko House residents. Here's to a year filled with continued generosity and community spirit!
