Why online safety is such an important issue nowadays?
Being online is a part of children and young people’s lives. Social media, online games, websites and apps may be accessed through mobile phones, computers, laptops and tablets – all of which form a component in children and young people’s online world.

The internet and online technology provide new opportunities for young people’s learning and growth, but it may also expose them to new forms of risks.

At Haileybury, E-safety forms a key part of our safeguarding and child protection measures.
Our whole school approach to safeguarding helps make sure that all of our staff take the responsibility to keep children aware about online safety.

When it comes to e-safety: to ensure the school’s online procedures keep children and young people safe, we have prepared online safety guides for both the Junior School and the Senior School, these are designed to teach about online safety, in and outside of school. We are in partnership with National Online Safety where we can access guides for parents, teachers and young people about the latest information on online safety.

As you can see, we take online safety very seriously throughout the year and are constantly updating the information that we have and the information that we share.
