This past weekend, we had the pleasure of hosting Haileybury Astana and The British School of Tashkent for a 2-day, 4-sport tournament. Our aim was to prepare our U11 team before they head off to Bangkok to participate in The FOBISIA Games alongside 8 other schools from South East Asia.
Our team, consisting of 24 boys and girls from Years 5 & 6, have been training hard since February, both on weekends and in school swimming and football CCAs. They participated in Athletics, Tee Ball, Swimming, and Football and the games were competitive with all students taking part in all 4 sporting disciplines.
All the teams worked incredibly hard, and there was a great atmosphere displayed by all schools with fair play and respect high on their agendas. We are proud to announce that the event was a huge success! We will look to build on this next year with the introduction of a 4th school from our central Asian region.
At Haileybury Almaty, we are committed to providing our students with opportunities to showcase their talents and engage in healthy competition. We want to thank all the participants, coaches, and staff for making this event a memorable one. We wish our U11 team the best of luck in Bangkok and look forward to hosting more tournaments in the future. Stay tuned for updates!
