Students Named Runners-Up in COBIS Eco-School Competition with Innovative Textile Waste Project

We are thrilled to announce that our students have been named the runners-up in the Key Stage 3-5 category of the eco-school competition.

A huge congratulations to everyone involved, especially the Eco-Schools Committee. This is a wonderful achievement that we can all be proud of.

We received some fantastic feedback from the judges, NAEE, our competition partner. Their comments were very positive, highlighting the creative and effective approach that our students took to raising awareness of the global issue of textile waste. The film showcased how our students worked with a local second-hand shop to organise a fashion show, which featured pre-owned clothes. The students modelled the fashions on the catwalk and had a great time doing so.

We were pleased to hear that the project ended with a school initiative to collect clothes for a second life, which further demonstrated our students' commitment to sustainability. This is a great example of how our school community can come together to make a positive impact on the planet.

Thank you to everyone who played a part in this project and helped us achieve this recognition. Let's continue to work towards a more sustainable future for all. #cobis #hal_ecoschool #savetheplanet
