A Haileybury education offers a world of opportunity for talented girls and boys who wish to embrace the challenge of pursuing academic excellence, gain fulfilment through participation in our broad range of co-curricular activities and make a valuable contribution to our happy and purposeful community.

Haileybury Astana, established in 2011 as a leading IB World School, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of leaders and empowering them to achieve their aspirations of attending prestigious universities worldwide. As part of the global Haileybury Schools Group, the school upholds a tradition of academic excellence while fostering holistic personal development. The school’s non-profit model ensures that all profits are reinvested annually into our educational programmes, learning infrastructure improvement and CPD training.

Pupils at Haileybury Astana consistently achieve outstanding results in iGCSE and IB exams, with many going on to study at elite institutions such as MIT, Berkeley, Oxford, Imperial, Warwick, KAIST and other renowned universities in the US, the UK, Europe, and Asia. The school offers a balanced education, where academic achievements are paired with the development of character, resilience, and leadership skills.

In 2025, Haileybury Astana will expand its offerings with the opening of a state-of-the-art STEM Centre, designed to promote interdisciplinary learning in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. This state of the art Science and Robotics Centre has been developed and planned in conjunction with leading international architects. Within our existing main building, we are also undertaking a full redevelopment so both teachers and pupils are now able to learn in modern and comfortable learning environments.

We provide a holistic education that balances academic achievement with the development of character, resilience and leadership

As a testament to its commitment to excellence, Haileybury Astana has received commendations from IBO, CIS and NEASC, COBIS for its quality of international education. The school is also part of the FOBISIA network, reflecting its global engagement and high standards. Therefore, the success of our academic programme has been to consistently outperform the global average. Our average IB point score stands at 36, surpassing the global average of 30. Nearly 50% of pupils achieved scores of 36 or higher, with 48% of subject grades awarded as 6 or 7. Additionally, 89% of pupils earned top grades in the Theory of Knowledge component.

Within the school, we have small class sizes, a rich array of learning resources and a detailed and comprehensive CPD plan for teachers. Whether this be internal CPD, within the Haileybury Schools Group or external qualifications such as NPQML, we aim to support the development of our colleagues. The school also has an active social committee, which offers a range of recreation and social activities to our community.

Selective hiring practices are central to Haileybury Astana’s educational approach. The school employs a rigorous selection process to ensure that only the most qualified and passionate educators join its teaching staff. This selective recruitment ensures that pupils receive intellectually stimulating lessons delivered by teachers who are dedicated to nurturing and inspiring the younger generation. The school believes that exceptional education is driven by the synergy of excellent teachers, engaged pupils, and a supportive educational environment.

Situated in the modern capital of Kazakhstan, Haileybury Astana is also committed to preserving and promoting the Kazakh language and culture, enriching pupils' understanding of Kazakh heritage while maintaining national traditions.
