Haileybury Astana invites pupils at the age of 11-18 to take part in the HASTMUN 2021 Conference which will be held on November 5-7 on the MUN Command platform. Due to quarantine measures, this event will be held online. Participation in the conference is free of charge.
Model United Nations (MUN) is a 3-day educational simulation of a United Nations conference, where delegates represent different countries, advocate their policies, and debate real-life global issues. MUN embraced worldwide by schools and colleges, is an informative and engaging extracurricular activity.
Pupils take part in both national and international conferences simulating United Nations committees. The main topic of the HASTMUN 2021 Conference is “Confronting the Crisis to Revive Hope”.
Currently, the world is struggling with a pandemic and is gradually moving towards recovery. This topic was chosen to find ways to combine global cooperation and overcome international difficulties.

We are delighted to introduce our very own MUN Academy, a new and exciting training programme constructed to prepare future delegates and chairs, helping them gain the skills and confidence to embark on their MUN journeys.
For delegates, the planned schedule consists of two Saturday workshops, with the delegates learning the MUN procedure, receiving advice from chairs and experienced delegates, getting to grips with the used terminology, meeting other delegates and much more.
As for the chairs, the MUN Academy consists of a one-day workshop into the procedure of being a chair and communicating with the delegates.
