Haileybury Astana’s Reception Teacher Triumphs with Gold Medal at International Skating Competition

We are proud to announce a stellar achievement by our Reception teacher, Katrine Altiok, who recently brought home a gold medal from the Swan Challenge 2024 in Bled, Slovenia.

Representing Kazakhstan on an international stage, Katrine displayed her dedication and exceptional talent in this prestigious adult figure skating competition, held from 18 to 20 October 2024.

The Swan Challenge has grown into a highly regarded event that gathers adult figure skaters from across the globe, offering them a platform to celebrate their passion for the sport. The competition attracts both amateur and seasoned skaters who compete across various age categories, and it is renowned for its high standards and spirited camaraderie. This year’s competition featured participants from numerous countries, each displaying a unique blend of skill, artistry, and sportsmanship.

Katrine’s gold medal win is a remarkable testament to her commitment and hard work. Competing against talented skaters from around the world, she impressed both the judges and audience with her skill, grace, and dedication, ultimately claiming the top spot. Haileybury Astana recently hosted the First Astana Robotics Championship, bringing together over 800 students, coaches, teachers, and volunteers, as well as more than 90 teams to showcase their innovative ideas and cutting-edge solutions in the field of robotics.
