Sports Awards

At Haileybury Astana, we offer a wide range of sporting activities for pupils of all ages and stages of development. We believe in the potential of all our pupils to develop physically, socially and emotionally, through the medium of physical education. 

Throughout the whole year, our amazing pupils have been participating in many fun and exciting activities organised by the PE department. As an international British school, it is vital for us to empower young people through the medium of physical education. Pupils from Early Years till the Sixth Form were able to showcase their leadership, communication and teamwork skills while exercising their abilities in problem-solving and decision making. 

To celebrate students who have taken part in sports activities, we held our first annual Sports Awards. The awards were presented to students in Year 3 and above, that have trained regularly AND competed in a competitive situation in one or more of the 4 core sports: swimming, football, basketball and volleyball. Abzal Azhgaliyev, 3 times Winter Olympian​ and World Cup Gold Medallist, attended the ceremony. 

We hope that these Sports Awards inspire and motivate our students to reach new goals next year. It was great to celebrate pupils’ successes and achievements.

Sportsmanship Award​

A student that goes above and beyond with a great attitude towards teachers, officials and their opponents as well as performing to a high level.

Player/Swimmer of the Year​

A student that has shown consistently outstanding performance achieving excellence in training and competitive situations.

Sportsperson of the Year Award​

A student who excels in one or more sports and has competed regularly and consistently across the year showing dedication to training and matches, being a role model and a key player in the teams.​
