The Top Universities Boot Camp at Haileybury Astana is a pioneering initiative designed to prepare our students for the rigours of university applications and academic life at prestigious institutions worldwide.

This intensive 2-day programme, held on August 20-21, 2024, features alumni from Ivy League schools and other top universities who will share their invaluable insights and experiences.

Objective:

Our mission is to empower students from Year 12 to Year 13, from 16 to 18 years old to become exceptional leaders by providing a transformative summer camp experience. This boot camp aims to help students hone essential skills and foster leadership qualities necessary for making informed decisions about their educational and career paths.

Key Features:

Expert Guidance: Led by Haileybury's own world-class college counsellors, Mrs Munoz Lopera and Mr Stockermans, with sessions by HB alumni from top universities, including Harvard, UCLA, Manchester and KAIST who will provide personalised mentorship and share their journey.
Interactive Workshops: Focused on soft skills development, academic excellence, leadership, and personal branding.
Hands-on Activities: Engaging discussions, Q&A sessions, and interactive projects to give students a firsthand understanding of university life.
Admission Strategies: Detailed guidance on university applications, personal statements, interviews, and extracurricular involvement.

Mentor

Alikseniia Martysheva, Haileybury Almaty's School Captain is our first admission to Harvard, class of 2027. She earned well-deserved acceptances to Cambridge, LSE, Columbia and Science Po, but chose to study Liberal Arts, Pre Law, at the world's most famous university. Alikseniia won these honours for her outstanding academics and extracurricular activities and is a role model for pupils everywhere.

Alinur Sayat. Haileybury Almaty's other School Captain in 2023, he graduated with high grades, a high SAT score, and a long list of extracurriculars demonstrating his impact on our school and community. He's studying at UCLA at the prestigious Samuelli School of Engineering.

Khaknazar Mukash. Khaknazar is a double major in Civil & Environmental Engineering and Computer Science at KAIST. He has extensive experience in software engineering, having interned at Giboo, MetaEarth Lab, and Steinfeld.co, where he developed various applications and tools using Python, JavaScript, and TypeScript. His projects include creating a video journaling application with AI-driven sentiment analysis and developing a real-time 3D pose visualization tool.

Mentor

Amalia Ertis, one of Haileybury Astana's greatest, she earned 43 points in her IB diploma and won a place in the UK's University of Manchester to study Aeronautical Engineering. She did extra courses and internships at Nazarbayev University to prove her academic strengths.
